How it all began...

The Story ‘About Us’ started many, many years ago! July 1987, I set up a small business in my bedroom, whilst still living at home with my parents, making horse and rider clothing. I made blankets for horses, and sweatshirt and hat covers for riders. I travelled around the country selling my wares from a VW campervan at horse shows. The business grew, and soon I was selling my personalised co-ordinating horse and rider clothing to saddlers worldwide.

My husband, Pete, joined me in running the business in 1992. A few years later our son Aidan arrived. We had enjoyed the social side of all our antenatal group meetings with couples that had become friends, and as their babies arrived, we made them pram blankets embroidered with their baby’s name as a gift. The blankets seemed to be a hit and many more enquiries arrived.

It seemed to be the perfect gift for a new baby, cosy, soft and personalised with the baby’s name and date of birth, a keepsake for years to come.

Mr Mole is born...

With a bit of persuasion from our friends, Mr Mole Blankets was created. It seemed to be the perfect gift for a new baby, cosy, soft and personalised with the baby’s name and date of birth, a keepsake for years to come. With the growth of both businesses and the birth of our daughter we decided to sell the horse clothing business. Life was too busy and when a very close friend died of breast cancer it made us realise that enjoying life with family and friends is so important. We now enjoy running just Mr Mole Blankets, life is still hectic, but a nice hectic!

Since 2001, Mr Mole has expanded and so has our range. We now offer a range of blankets for babies, toddlers, children and adults (and we haven’t left out the family pet!) We now make a range of blankets for cats and dogs too.
